Setting SharePoint file permissions
To give someone edit or read-only view for a SharePoint file, you must first customize the link.
1. Click on the "Share" button.

2. At the share menu, click on the gear icon next to "Copy Link."

3. Within the share menu, modify the view settings to the preferred option (can view, can edit, or can review).

4. After clicking "Apply," the link will be modified to the desired permission level.
