How to install a mouse and keyboard
Instructions for Plugging in a USB Mouse and Keyboard
1. Locate the USB Ports: Find the USB ports on your computer. These are usually located on the back or sides of a desktop tower, or on the sides of a laptop.
2. Prepare Your Devices: Unpack your USB mouse and keyboard if they are new. Make sure the cables are untangled and ready to use.
3. Identify the USB Connectors: Look at the ends of the mouse and keyboard cables. They should have a rectangular USB connector.
4. Insert the USB Mouse: Take the USB connector of the mouse and gently insert it into one of the USB ports on your computer. Make sure the connector is oriented correctly; it should slide in easily without force.
5. Insert the USB Keyboard: Similarly, take the USB connector of the keyboard and insert it into another available USB port on your computer.
6. Wait for Device Recognition: Once plugged in, your computer should automatically recognize the new devices. You might see a notification indicating that the mouse and keyboard are being set up.
7. Test the Devices: Move the mouse to see if the cursor moves on the screen. Type a few keys on the keyboard to ensure it is working properly.
8. Adjust Settings if Necessary: If needed, you can adjust the settings for your mouse and keyboard through your computer’s control panel or settings menu.
