Releasing a Quarantined Email

The Proofpoint Essentials quarantine digest is an email that shows a list of emails that were held back (quarantined) by Proofpoint Essentials and not delivered to you. This digest helps you easily review these emails and decide if you want to release them.

What’s Included in the Quarantine Digest?

Emails marked as spam or bulk that were not delivered to you.

Note: Emails identified as dangerous (like those with fraud or malware) are not included in the digest.

Actions You Can Take

1. Preview an Email

Click 'Preview' next to the email in your digest.

A web browser will open showing the email in a safe format (with links, attachments, and images removed).

Review the email content to decide what to do next.

2. Release an Email

Click 'Release' next to the email you want to receive.

The email will be scanned again and then delivered to your inbox if it’s safe.

3. Release and Approve

Click 'Release & Approve' next to the email.

The email will be delivered to your inbox and the sender will be added to your safe sender list (future emails from this sender won’t be quarantined unless they are dangerous).

4. Block a Sender

Click 'Block' next to the email.

The sender will be added to your blocked sender list (future emails from this sender will always be quarantined).
